Outreach IT Project
This project is a two year project funded by Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales to provide very basic computer courses via outreach for individuals who cannot attend our premises.
B Ahead
This project aims to develop skills within the local community and is funded by:
And is a development of the previous BLACK project as it provides one to one support in addition to providing computer training courses.
An external evaluation of the B Ahead project in November 2007 showed that the project is having wide ranging impacts for individuals. The project has supported a number of individuals to gain employment, individuals have gained Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications and many have progressed on to additional courses or training.
The project has also had an enormous impact on individuals self confidence, motivation, self esteem and communication skills. Advice and Guidance
BCJ has some funding from The Bryant Trust to provide basic advice on learning and employment opportunities.
This project involves outreach work at local organisations including Children's Centres and Jobcentre Plus. Youth activities
We currently have no funding for youth activities but our staff voluntarily provide football, kung-fu and badminton sessions every week. We are part of the REALise project, and are in the Employment and Training micro-cluster. The project aims to develop social enterprise, collaborative working and developing the capacity of organisations so they can secure contracts.
