Bloomsbury Cyber Junction
Bloomsbury Cyber Junction is a charitable organisation which was set up by local residents in 2000 to provide a centre for computer based activities and learning. The centre is for the use of all local residents. The project is located in Bloomsbury, which is within the Nechells ward in Birmingham.
Bloomsbury Cyber Junction initially developed the centre for the use of teenagers. Now we provide services to adults as well.
The centre comprises two areas
- the Internet and computer facilities
- and the relaxation area.
We provide the following services:
- New CLAIT and CLAIT Plus computer courses
- Literacy and Numeracy Support
- Workshops on using the internet, sending emails, using Word and Spreadsheets
- Employment Support Services
- Information, advice and guidance
- Free internet access and computer usage during drop in sessions
- Help with job search skills, interview techniques, CV preparation, completing application forms and writing formal letters
- Educational trips
- Support for young people who are excluded from school
- Residential learning opportunities
- Development of your personal skills (self confidence, motivation, aspirations, self esteem, team working skills, problem solving skills)
- One to one mentoring support
- Youth club - including internet use, web site design and art and graphics workshops

| Award winning BCJ - Monday, December 08, 2008BCJ won a RegenWM Prize today. BCJ won the Prize for its successful community engagement. The winners were announced at the ICC today as part of the West Midlands Regeneration Convention.
The Prizes celebrate the success of regeneration projects across the West Midlands. BCJ was praised by the judges for strong successful engagement with hard to reach and isolated members of the community.
